Went here on a Tuesday night with a friend and surprisingly there was no wait. We ordered carpaccio, udon, yakitori, and a variety of sushi. Carpaccio was very fresh and not too citrusy like at some other places and all the sushi just melted in my mouth! Yakitori is also a must. Beef short rib was very tender, sea bass was seasoned perfectly and buttery, and chicken skin was personally my favorite. Last but not least, uni cream udon is to die for. At most places that I have had it the cream can be too overwhelming and heavy but here it was well balanced. Also there was so much uni that they threw in there you can taste the uni until the last bite of this dish. Overall, the ambiance, the quality of food, and the customer service was great and I will be back!

Sushi here is solid, but I would say a little on the pricey side. The weight staff is courteous and does not rush you. The inside decor is warm. The place is clean and inviting. Wish I could give 4 1/2 stars.

My friend is a regular at this place and they all know her. This is my second time here, and the quality is phenomenal. The staff are all really friendly and accommodating here. It's a small restaurant in WeHo but super cute and charming. Authentic, quality sushi here. The halibut has this awesome sauce that works so well with it. The salmon is super tender and has a good strong smokey flavor to it. Would definitely come back.

Izakaya Tora is absolutely amazing! The ingredients and fish are incredibly fresh, and the staff is super friendly. Chef Phil is fantastic and really elevates the experience. This was my first visit, and I loved the vibe of the area--it's such a great spot. This is far from your ordinary sushi restaurant; they truly stand out. Highly recommend!

Izakaya Tora offers very nice, reasonably priced, high quality sushi in the heart of West Hollywood. The space itself is somewhat tiny but I've never had a problem easily getting a table and the service has always been friendly and hospitable. They'll often give you a free, chef's choice dish at some point during your meal, which is always a nice surprise. The menu is extensive with plenty of options. I particularly enjoy starting off with the rock shrimp tempura which is so light and crispy and the seared hokkaido scallop. There are plenty of nigiri options. I happen to be a huge sweet shrimp (amaebi) fan and theirs is so fresh and tasty. Another standout for me is the blue crab uni caviar bowl, which is super sumptuous and indulgent. This dish comes with nori wrappers so you can make your own bite-sized pieces. Love this place and will definitely be back to continue exploring the menu!

The sushi was fire!! Amazing quality!! The service was friendly, personable and helpful! The toro was fantastic but my favorite of the night was probably the scallop! It was buttery and soft! It really stood out! The chef was amazing and sent us a smoked halibut to finish off our meal which was exceptional! Would definitely go here again!

Me and friends wanted to try atleast one Dine LA special this past week and we settled on trying Izakaya Tora. It was about $55/per person which we all thought wasn't too bad considering sushi can get really pricy and it's easy to spend $100 on food alone. Parking for this restaurant can definitely be a challenge! Me and my partner decided to Uber since we read it was only street parking and it was really hard to find. We came to visit on a Friday night, so partygoers are in full swing getting their evening started. Our friends parked a few blocks away so be prepared to walk a bit if you decide to brave snagging a parking spot. The establishment is pretty small with a few tables inside and out. Very comfy and casual. Pretty standard ambiance for izakayas, not too crazy noise-wise but loud enough. We ordered a few appetizers such as the okonomiyaki and the spicy tuna crispy rice which was not included in the Dine LA menu. The crispy tuna was standard, 4 pcs to share with a crispy crust with finely minced tuna, mayo, sriracha, a drizzle of kabayaki sauce and topped with jalapeño. The okonomiyaki was also crunchy with a good balance of sweet and savory, filled with a generous amount of seafood, sauce, and bonito. I was a little surprised that the cost was $20, I had assumed on the size it would be closer to $15 for the portion size. On to the dine LA, we started off with the appetizers with the carpaccio sampler which included 2pcs of yellowtail jalapeño, halibut truffle, and salmon with cilantro mayo. All the pieces were fresh and light, a good start to the meal. Then came the 6pcs sushi omakase which had two types of salmon: regular and seared, red snapper, black snapper, yellowtail and halibut. I thought the sushi was good but I would have liked a little more variety considering we had salmon, halibut, and yellowtail in the carpaccio. Maybe some tuna or unagi? But considering the price, I totally understand why they had chosen those pieces as the offerings. Then came the kushiyaki which I found to be the star of the show. The kurobuta pork belly was so deliciously fatty and tender and had a lovely charred flavor from the grill. The chicken thigh was pretty standard in terms of flavor. My favorite was the Chilean sea bass which was tender and moist with a lovely miso flavor that was savory and slightly sweet. I had my reservations that the fish would dry out but it was pleasantly surprised. I could only take a few nibbles of the skewers at this point because I was surprisingly really full. To finish, we had a mixed berry cheesecake which was so cute and small. The perfect portion to end our meal! I thought it was really good and it had the perfect amount of sweetness, but I would have liked a more unique flavor possibly like matcha or sesame to fit the vibe of rest of the menu. We all had drinks so our bill totaled about $100 per person. Overall, a solid sushi spot. Service was good and our entire party left satisfied!

Just ROLLING along to @izakayatora ! Located in the heart of Weho, this hidden gem definitely is a nice, vibey spot to take a date or grab a bite before going out for the night. This spot features premium, fresh cuts of sashimi that definitely are among some of the freshest that I've had in LA and definitely comparable to the quality you get in Japan. If you're not a fan of raw fish, they also have incredibly well-prepared and authentic Japanese hot plates such as their Uni udon, miso eggplant tempura and chicken karaage, which I would definitely return for. Featured here: chicken karaage miso eggplant tempura Uni udon pasta yakitori sushi omakase (10 piece) seared Hokkaido scallop halibut carpaccio ice cream with matcha mochi cake matcha float, lychee mimosa
